Kalasataman IMU collects large mixed waste items, electrical waste, scrap metal and batteries on recycling days. This autumn there will be two recycling days, 9.8. and 20.9. Some changes in collection points, check below!
On Saturday 9.8. 10am – 3pm collection points are the old and familiar ones at Redi/Englantilaisaukio and Loviseholminkuja/Sompasaari.
On Saturday 20.9. 10am – 3pm in addition to the old points, a new collection point in Verkkosaari will be tested, situated on the north end of Capellan puistotie.
Collection points and dates:
This waste collection is only for residents using the pipeline-based waste collection system. Please present your IMU-key at the collection point.
YOU CAN BRING:
LARGE MIXED WASTE: carpets, mattresses, buckets, folders, suitcases, furniture etc.
ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC WASTE: TV’s, home appliances, mobile phones, computers, small appliances, power tools, batteries etc.
SCRAP METAL: bicycles, trolleys, prams, grills, pots, tools, metal containers, metal furniture etc.
DO NOT BRING:
HAZARDOUS WASTE
- energy-saving or fluorescent lamps –> stores that sell electrical gadgets, HSY Sortti station
- paints, solvents, liquid batteries ->HSY hazardous waste container
- waste containing asbestos ->HSY Sortti station (Ämmässuontie 8, 02820 Espoo)
- pressure treated timber ->HSY Sortti station
- medicines, syringes ->Pharmacy
- explosives or guns ->Police
